Last month members of the GIScience Research Group of Heidelberg University and the Doctoral College GIScience of Salzburg University met for a few days at a joint PhD Summer School on “Explorations in GIScience”. This included workshops, presentations and most importantly lively discussions on a range of topics related to research in GIScience. The set back atmosphere of the location Frauenchiemsee helped the participants to focus on new ideas and think beyond the restrictions of the everyday work. It was very enlightening to discuss and understand the perspectives on GIScience research of different participants from an interdisciplinary background.
And most of all it was a lot of fun in a great environment and we all love to come back!
