Upcoming Wheelmap mapping event at Heidelberg on December 3rd

December 3rd is the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). In this scope the CAP4Access team from GIScience group of Heidelberg University invites any interested person to a public Wheelmap mapping event on Saturday 3rd December at Heidelberg.

Similiar to previously organized Mapping Events we would like to improve the Wheelmap project by marking public places all over Heidelberg according to their wheelchair accessibility.

The event will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Bismarckdenkmal near Bismarckplatz (cf. first figure). Everyone is invited to spend as much time for the mapping as he or she would like to.

Please bring your own smartphone or  tablet (with mobile internet) and install the Wheelmap App (an OpenStreetMap account is required). For further information on how Wheelmap works have a look at the Handout for Mappers!

PS: Our friends of BiBeZ are also planning an event on the ocassion of the UN IDPD. For further information click this link.
