Invitation: Colloquium Talk by Dr. Thomas Jarmer on Using Spectroscopy and hyperspectral imagery for the Assessment of Surface Properties

We cordially invite all interested to our forthcoming talk in the GIScience colloquium next Monday, December 19, about the use of remote sensing techniques for assessing soil and crop properties for applications in agriculture. Dr. Thomas Jarmer combines quantitative field measurements with remote sensing imagery to achieve not only a qualitative, but a quantitative assessment of surface properties on regional scale. Empirical-statistical models based on this approach provide information for soil regionalization and yield estimation.

Spectroscopy and hyperspectral imagery for applications in agriculture – from in-situ measurements to spatial assessment
